Born and raised in the Lone Star State, the discovery of BBQ (one of Texas’ finest delicacies) happened at an early age for the Smokin’ Q owner, Mona Kerrison. Experiencing and witnessing the fine skill of low and slow smoking since the age of 15, Mona has had a continuing passion for creating delicious meats, sauces and rubs. In 2008, Mona and her family set out on an adventure to Colorado and settled in Teller County only to find there was no ‘real’ BBQ to be found. Determined to share her love and passion for BBQ, Mona decided to open up the Smokin’ Q, which is committed to serving only the finest foods, made with the freshest ingredients.

The Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center is located near the park entrance and offers free nature presentations daily. Natural history exhibits include minerals, geology, plants and local wildlife, as well as Native American culture. Programs include nature hikes, a Junior Ranger program, narrated bus tours, movies and special programs.
